Global ingredients group Tate & Lyle is set to unveil a series of new sweetener and stabiliser solutions at Gulfood Manufacturing that enhance taste, texture and reduced sugar options that have been specifically tailored to the MENA region, reports Neill Barston.
The tenth edition of the show, which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre between 5-7 November, is set to feature a total of more than 2,500 exhibitors from 70 countries, including a significant volum with confectionery and snacks focuses.
Among its core offerings this year, Tate & Lyle’s new range includes Euoligo Fos, a non-GMO dietary fibre, and Tasteva M, which are both reportedly said to deliver improved mouthfeel and a clean flavour profile.
As the company noted, these have been designed to help food and drink manufacturers create healthier products while maintaining taste and texture, addressing the rising demand for reduced sugar and enhanced nutrition across the region. Having previously covered the event on a number of occasions, the confectionery sector has remained strongly represented at the event in terms of relevant equipment, systems and ingredients.
Furthermore, the company explained that it will be offering visitors to its stand, Hall 6 E6-28, the opportunity to explore its series, which also includes a focus on products offering calorie control that have been developed for the entire food and drink sector.
According to the company, its Tasteva M is produced from the stevia leaf using a proprietary bioconversion process, and assists manufacturers formulate reduced-sugar products to achieve a clean, sugar-like taste experience at an economically viable cost. It offers sweetness profiles like sugar, a clean sugar-like taste, and is made from sustainably sourced stevia leaf extract. It also provides a unique sweetness profile suitable for zero-sugar beverages.
Its Euoligo Fos, dietary fibre has been devised to support sugar reduction, fibre fortification and gut health – critical elements in creating better-for-you products that cater to the health-conscious consumer (see Tate & Lyle in our review video below from last year).
Hussam Yacoub, Vice president for Tate & Lyle Turkey, Middle East and Africa commented: “Our latest ingredient solutions, including Euoligo Fos and Tasteva M, are designed to help manufacturers tackle complex formulation challenges such as improving mouthfeel, texture and extending shelf life, while also supporting sugar reduction.
“Through our ongoing partnerships with manufacturers, we are helping bring new, exciting products to market that shape the future of food and drink. As demand for healthier, more nutritious products grows across the region, we’re providing solutions that enable our customers to meet these needs and address pressing concerns like childhood obesity.
“We’re excited to showcase these solutions at Gulfood Manufacturing this year, where we’ll demonstrate how Tate & Lyle continues to lead in driving innovation in the food and beverage industry.”
